After the success of our Intake system for the Suzuki swift Sport (ZC33S), and due to popular demand, we have now developed a comprehensive induction system for the Swift Hybrid model. Over a large period of time, we have been testing and developing a product with the same project brief as all of our induction kits which are:

  • Increase power and torque output (peak gains of 20BHP)
  • Improve the sound characteristics of the engine note
  • Improve the visual impact of the engine bay

Please note that some product pictures of FMINDK53 are fitted with products FMTIA14 (turbo inlet) and FMTUBL19 (turbo blanket).

Like the non-hybrid models the location of the original air box was susceptible to a vast amount of heat soak, which lead us to relocate the area of where the air filter/airbox should be located in the engine bay. After extensive testing, we found that relocating the air filter to a cooler area of the engine bay was key to increasing performance. The filter element itself is provided by Pipercross, and is fully serviceable or replaceable if necessary. The pipe work of the kit runs around the cold side of the engine; this again is to keep intake temperatures down as low as possible. In total, we observed intake temperatures fall from 32°C down to 27°C. These numbers will come down further still with the addition of our intercooler upgrade. 

During our long testing program we were shocked to see what sort of gains were achievable from this induction kit – the proven results speak for themselves. With just FMINDK53 fitted to a stock vehicle we saw peak gains of 18.1 BHP and large gains in torque from 3300RPM through to the engines red line. These gains were achieved when the ambient temperature outside increased 3°C over the ambient temperature when testing the stock intake. As the above independent dyno graphs show, we saw increased gains again when we teamed FMINDK53 with FMTIA14 our turbo inlet adaptor. When both products were fitted to our test vehicle was saw peak gains of 20BHP and huge increases in torque fully throughout the rev range.

Alongside an addition of performance you also gain an addition of induction sound under acceleration which enhances the driving experience and gives the Suzuki 1.4 motor some added character. The sound however is not too intrusive and when driving moderately is not dissimilar to the OE intake system.

From aesthetic point of view FMINDK53 really delivers. From the mandrel bent and shaped alloy hard pipe to the laser cut and engraved engine plate bracket all finished in our textured black powder coat; this induction kit looks purposeful and shows its quality. We have redesigned the hot side boost hose to allow space for the relocated filter position and we have added a bellow design to the silicone hose to allow for engine movement and prevent any possibility of fatigue. The attention to detail has been executed to the fullest with FMINDK53 which is why its covered with our legendary lifetime warranty.

Full installation of FMINDK53 can be carried out in around 60 minutes and to do this Forge Motorsport includes a set of full colour instructions.
