VGS Performance
Night Vision & Camera Calibration Services in Swindon
If your VW, Audi or Skoda has had a new windscreen, bumper, or camera replaced, it’s essential to recalibrate your night vision and camera systems. At VGS Performance, we carry out precise camera calibration using manufacturer-linked tools, helping you stay safe and fault-free on the road.
What is Night Vision & Camera Calibration?
Night vision and camera calibration is the process of precisely aligning and configuring your vehicle’s built-in camera systems so they function correctly. This includes thermal night vision cameras, reversing cameras, front-facing sensors, and 360° camera systems. Calibration ensures these systems provide accurate images and data to assist with parking, safety alerts, and visibility in low-light conditions. It’s essential after windscreen replacement, bumper repairs, or any work involving camera modules.
What we calibrate
We handle night vision and camera system calibration for all VW Group vehicles. Whether it’s reversing cameras, front-facing sensors or thermal imaging systems, we follow factory procedures for accurate setup.
Services include:
- Night vision camera recalibration
- Reversing and 360-degree camera setup
- Parking and manoeuvring camera checks
- Front-facing camera recalibration after bumper work
- Windscreen-mounted camera realignment after replacement
When should camera calibration be done?
Camera recalibration is needed when:
- A windscreen has been replaced
- A front or rear camera module has been removed or replaced
- A bumper or mirror has been damaged
- You notice camera warning lights or error messages
If you’re unsure, we can run a diagnostic check to confirm if recalibration is required.
Why choose VGS for VW Group camera calibration?
We specialise in VW Group vehicles, so we understand how these systems integrate with your car’s wider electrical and safety setup.

What’s the difference between night vision and a reversing camera?
Night vision systems use thermal imaging, often mounted in the front grille or bumper. Reversing cameras are typically visual-only and mounted near the number plate or boot. We calibrate both systems using the correct tools for each.
Do I need recalibration after changing the windscreen?
Yes. If your camera is mounted to the glass, even a minor misalignment can affect accuracy. We’ll recalibrate it to factory standards after replacement.
Which vehicles do you cover?
We calibrate night vision and camera systems on all Volkswagen Group vehicles. This includes popular models like the Audi Q5, A6, and Q7, the VW Golf, Passat, Tiguan, the Cupra Leon and Formentor, and Skoda models such as the Kodiaq, Superb, and Octavia. Whether your vehicle has a reversing camera, front-facing camera, or integrated thermal night vision system, we have the tools and experience to calibrate it accurately. We also support newer EVs like the VW ID.3 and Audi Q4 e-tron, where camera systems are a key part of everyday driving.
